+ 30 Day Book Challenge: Day 6 +

A Book That Makes You Sad

I've been racking my brain for what feels like forever trying to think of a book that makes me sad, but usually if a book makes me sad that's only part of it. I mean, Cleopatra's Daughter makes me cry. every. single. time. I don't care that I've probably read it four or five times by this point. Tears, tears, tears. I know what happens. It still gets me. I'd tell you, but in the off chance you want to do something crazy like read the book for yourself, I won't spoil it.

White Fang also made twelve year old me cry. I think it was when White Fang was in the dog fight or something, maybe. I'm not sure. It's been a decade since I've read that book and I'm afraid to re-read it because I want it to remain amazing like it is in my head. It might not be as amazing since I'm older. I made that mistake already with some books from my childhood. I still want to name a future dog Fang in honor of White Fang.

Then there is also Where the Red Fern Grows which totally made me cry, too. I swear every time it makes me cry so much more if dogs are the ones that get hurt or die. Kind of like in movies - every time a dog (or a horse Walking Dead anyone?) dies I am about a million times more concerned for the dog than any stupid human in the movie. It might sound cold, but dogs are much more adorable and they count on humans so it's just mean letting them die.

I'm not sure if any other books made me cry. I seriously don't like this book challenge, it's too difficult.
