+ Fangirl Friday: Harrison Ford +

This Fangirl Friday is the awesome and dreamy Harrison Ford! You know he's dreamy, even for a slightly aged man. Everyone loves Indy. 'Nuff said.

He was born July 13, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. He was apparently not a very impressive student, never had above a C average. He was a member of Sigma Nu Frat. He started doing some acting after dropping out of Ripon College in Wisconsin, where he signed a Hollywood contract. His early roles were discouraged and instead he had turned to a career in professional carpentry.

However, four years later he made it in American Graffiti and another four years later he got the role as Han Solo. Ah, Star Wars. <3 And shortly after that, he got the part of Indiana Jones over Tom Selleck, who was involved in Magnum P.I. and wouldn't be released to do the Indiana Jones Saga. Which is completely fine, I don't think he could have topped Harrison Ford's performance as Indy. He received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for his role as John Book in Witness. He also got another Golden Globe nomination for DR. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive.

He's been married three times, and has five children. He has an 800-acre ranch in Wyoming which he built himself. Which is pretty impressive. He still does carpentry as a hobby. He's also a private pilot and flies himself between his New York and Wyoming homes. His favorite movie is The Mosquito Coast.

One of his trademarks is he typically plays characters that are known for intelligence rather than mere physical strength alone. He was choosen by Empire Magazine, as the 15th of the 100 Sexiest Stars in Film History. In 1998 he was People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. He was listed in 2001's Guinness's Book of World Records as richest male actor. Also honored for his work with the environment he got to name a new breed of butterfly and named it after his daughter, Georgia.

He changed his name to Harrison J Ford in order to make less confusion between the silent-film actor Harrison Ford, even though he has no middle name. He flew his helicopter to save a dehydrated twenty year old hiker near his home.

The Film Dragonfly was written with Harrison Ford in mind, but he wanted to take a year off acting, so it went to Kevin Costner. Which continued with their tendency to pass roles off to each other, even if it is merely accidental.

The Box Office grosses Ford's films total about 5.65 billion worldwide, no other actor has such records with all their movies they are in. Clearly, everyone loves him. May 30th, 2003 he received a star in Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Indiana Jone's coat and fedora hat are on display at the Smithsonian.

My favorite movies that he appears in are;

Star Wars Trilogy.

Indiana Jones. All four of them. Yeah, I like the new one. Deal with it. It's still great, especially in comparrison to the majority of what is put out these days.

Air Force One.

Sabrina.

Firewall.

There are more great movies he's in, I'm not denying that. Those are just my personal favorites of them. Credit: IMDB internet page. Google Images.
