+ Fangirl Friday: Natalie Portman +

I just can't seem to get away from this lovely actress, but then who would really want to? She's smart, pretty, a talented actress, has a great name (Kinda like a certain Cinderella, therefore she must be cool).

She was the big first step to me loving Star Wars as deeply as I do. The threshold of my Star Wars nerd-dom(Sure, Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor had their definite parts, too). I hadn't ever given Star Wars a second thought until I saw the awesome Queen Amidala.

Young, brave, strong, smart, and self-sacrificing. Who wouldn't want to choose someone like that to look up to? Yes, so she's not really the Queen Amidala, but it couldn't be done without her. And really, I don't think they could have ever picked a better person for the part of Queen Amidala and later Senator Padme. She continued to do a dazzling job throughout the newest Star Wars trilogy.

She has morals and sticks to her guns. Did you know she turned down a job because they wanted her to do a sex scene she wasn't comfortable with? That probably took a lot of guts being an actress, and they changed it for her. Also when invited by Moby to their performance she just stood in the dark and watched the performance and didn't drink. She's a good and wholesome role model. The kind that younger girls should look up to.

She was born in Jerusalem and can speak Hebrew, English, German, French, Spanish, and Japanese. She graduated from Harvard. She's a vegetarian and a dancer.

She always seems to have the roles that are the kind of girl that younger generations can continue to look up to, and that's very encouraging in a world full of girls trying to grow up too fast and setting up a bad example for our younger generations. It makes me feel like humanity isn't all going down the drain, now if only we can get girls to love Natalie Portman instead of Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, and the Paris Hilton. Who's with me?

Even in V for Vendetta she was a character to look up to. She started out shy and was in her own world trying to fit in and then the character (with the help of V) blossomed into someone who could stand on her own two feet, stand up for what she believed in, and didn't let fear stop her from doing anything. And honestly, how many women can still look gorgeous with a shaved head? Not many, but Natalie Portman is awesome enough to be able to pull it off. But it's not just that she's gorgeous, it's so much more. There are a million reasons to love her, and I just wanted to shine some light on her because she is definitely one of my favorite actresses ever.
