+ Seriously? STAHP! +

Honestly, what is the point of posting your opinions on social networking sites about the presidential elections? No one ever listens and just talks objectively and intelligently to each other. It doesn't change any minds about who they're voting for. People seem to think it gives them a free pass to be unintelligent, rude, condescending, and hateful to their friends(of all parties - EVERYONE does this). Or the other option is everyone pats each other on the back and is all, "bro, you know what's UP. We're awesome. EVERYONE ELSE IS STUPID AND UNINFORMED. AMIRITE!?1! YA, BRO - WE'RE RITE!!!111!!!!ONE!!1!"

I want to keep my high opinions and respect in my friends - don't talk to me about politics. No, really. Don't. That's not to say I don't have opinions, won't vote, or continue to watch/read my various news networks that cross countries and political parties - I will. I'm civilly responsible and work hard to be informed. I just don't want to discuss it. I know despite my opinions matching or clashing with yours nothing will sway my opinions. Nothing will sway yours. Elections aren't forever. I want to have friends left when this goes away in a little over a month.

I won't challenge your intellect if you vote differently than me, but don't challenge mine because I have differing beliefs. Maybe once the election is over I'll calmly and rationally discuss politics again. Maybe even explain my reasoning for my choice if asked. Perhaps not, depends on the civility when asked.

It's like religion - people don't sway easily, but people will go for your jugular for having opinions which ARE WRONG (regardless of the side, someone always lets you know you're wrong and stupid for believing something different)! You can't change my God. You can't change my Presidential Candidate.
