+ Only a Matter of Time +

I met with my mentor teachers for when I student teach next semester. Both of the ladies were quite nice and patient with the questions I asked. Especially considering some of the questions were probably silly - I was asking how block scheduling worked and that kind of thing. It's something I never had been exposed to.

As a result I am now feeling the excitement building about student teaching. I want it to be time already! Unfortunately I actually have three ridiculously busy weeks after Thanksgiving before the semester is over. Bummer, right? Sooo much to do and none of it is finished - not even remotely. It kills me.

I'm going to be having three mentor teachers it turns out. I get to work with various grades in English and even an elective class that is kind of English. That's exciting; I get to see how elective classes work. From the sound of it I get to be ridiculously busy still. I'm going to have to complete Spanish online, work on lesson plans on a regular basis, fit in working for the Dad in my free time, and somehow have a social life all while living with the parents? Yeah, that's clearly not going to happen.

Nothing that I've been trying to get done this break is getting done which is frustrating. It's drivin' me bonkers. However, I can't do some of the items on my to-do list by myself so that leaves me at square one. I shovelled the ice chunks from the driveway and front walk and almost killed myself in the process. There's a running joke about how I'm Fire-Blooded just because I maintain the capability of holding a temperature that keeps me from ever being cold, yet at the same time my natural temperature is roughtly 94-95 degrees. If I'm at 97-98 degrees that, for me, is a temperature that indicates illness. As a result while I was shovelling instead of being freezing while the wind was blowing I was sweating and ended up shovelling in a tank top and jeans - not a lot of warm clothes. I left my clothes in a very long wake leading to the garage. I was laughing at the thought while shovelling because my roommate (perhaps both) crank up the heat like we're in Antarctica as they are always cold meanwhile I'm forever stripping because it's hot like a sauna to me.
